Ta Dumbong Kro Aung statue in Battambang is a depiction of an 11th century tale about a man who finds a magical stick and uses it to defeat a king, becoming king himself, according to lore, the stick was then lost. The name of the town, pronounced Bat-Dam-Bong, is literally the words 'lost stick'
